Woof Woof! Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Get me!

Posted by BedBugPlague in July 1st 2011

Did you know? Bed bug reports have increased 80 percent since the year 2000, according to a recent Huffington Post article. What’s more: no one is immune to the pesky critters, which can bite anytime, anywhere and anyone. That means our four-legged friends are also vulnerable to bed bug bites, especially because they are partial to cat and dog naps on the couch, bed or on piles of clothes.

Show your puppy love by preventing bed bugs before they take over your home. Although pets cannot carry bed bugs, they can experience irritation from bed bug bites just as humans do.

Here are some tips to keep you and Fido safe from bed bugs:

  • Only use pet-friendly pesticides in your home (if necessary).
  • At home, use Protect-A-Bed mattress and box spring encasements to help you detect a potential problem early before it becomes unmanageable.
  • If you’re taking a family vacation or sending a son or daughter off to college this summer, the Bed Bug College Kit featuring Protect-A-Bed products (from BedBugcentral.com) includes everything your family needs to prevent bed bugs on the go.
